Royal Parking Services Ltd. (“Royal Parking”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act (British Columbia) (“PIPA”) and our contractual obligations under our Information Sharing Agreement with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC).

What Is Personal Information?

Personal Information means information about an identifiable individual, other than business contact information.

Personal information collected or received by Royal Parking may include:

  • Name
  • Mailing address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Vehicle licence plate number
  • Vehicle make, model, colour, and related vehicle details
  • Photographs of vehicles for enforcement purposes
  • Payment and billing information

Collection and Use of Personal Information

Royal Parking collects personal information only for purposes that are reasonable and necessary to operate private parking facilities and enforce parking regulations on behalf of property owners.

Parking Enforcement

Where a vehicle is parked on private property managed by Royal Parking, personal information may be collected for the purpose of issuing parking violation notices, collecting unpaid parking fees, investigating disputes, and administering parking registration systems. Notice of collection is provided through clearly posted signage at the parking location.

Where a violation remains unpaid, Royal Parking may request registered owner information from ICBC in accordance with applicable legislation and our Information Sharing Agreement. This information is used strictly for the purpose of collecting unpaid parking fees or violation notice charges and for no other purpose.

Monthly Parking and Business Accounts

For monthly parking agreements or business services, we collect personal and contact information necessary to maintain parking accounts, process payments, and provide account-related communications. Financial information is used solely to process authorized transactions.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Royal Parking does not sell or trade personal information. Personal information may be disclosed only to authorized employees, approved collection agencies, legal counsel, ICBC where required, or where required or authorized by law. Personal information obtained from ICBC is used strictly for enforcement and collection purposes.

Safeguards

Royal Parking maintains appropriate physical, administrative, and technological safeguards to protect personal information, including restricted access to authorized personnel, password-protected systems, secure office environments, and secure destruction of records when no longer required.

We strive to ensure that personal information in our records is accurate and up to date. If you believe your information is inaccurate, please contact us so we may review the matter.

Privacy Complaints

Royal Parking maintains a written privacy complaint procedure. If you have concerns about how your personal information has been handled, please contact us. If a matter cannot be resolved, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
